Early access, built in.Let people in when you are ready.

A waitlist is an early-access list on your portal. People join with a verified account, see their place in line and follow the idea behind it. You invite them in groups when the feature is ready.

A waitlist that follows your roadmap.

Here a waitlist is more than a list of addresses. It is tied to an idea your customers already voted for.

  • Link a waitlist to an idea on your roadmap.
  • People who wanted the feature join from the idea's page.
  • Show a list on your portal's Early access page, and each person sees their place in line and how far the idea has got.
  • When the idea ships, the page shows its changelog entry.
  • None of the nine tools on our compare page lists a waitlist (our research, 20 October 2026).

Join and wait, with a place in line.

People sign in to your portal and join. Every sign-up is a verified person.

A verified account

People join with their portal account, so the address is the one on that account. On a portal that runs on your own domain with email-code sign-in, people join in one step with their email address and a code.

Place in line

Each person sees their place and how many people are ahead of them. At the front, they see that they are next.

Up to five questions

Ask short questions when people join. Answers stay with your team and never appear on a public page.

A welcome email

Switch it on and write it in your own words. It tells people their place and, when referrals are on, their referral link.

Invite people in groups.

You decide who gets in, and when.

  • Invite the next people in line, chosen people, or everyone who gave a certain answer, for example everyone on iPhone first.
  • Invite up to 500 people at a time.
  • Or schedule waves on the days and hour you pick. With waves on, everyone waiting sees an estimated date for their wave.
  • Write to the people waiting, the people you invited, everyone, or only those who gave a certain answer. You see the email and how many people it reaches before you send.

Grow the list with referrals.

Referrals are off until you switch them on. Then each friend who joins with someone's link moves that person up by a number of places you choose.

Daily limit and review

You set how many friends one person can earn a day. Friends over the limit, with a throwaway address or from the same inbox wait for your review.

Rewards and a leaderboard

Move people who bring friends to the front, or invite them. An opt-in leaderboard shows only a first name and last initial.

Share links

People share their link by email, X, LinkedIn or WhatsApp, or copy it.

Five designs

Choose Clear, Waves, Growth, Hub or Compact for each waitlist page, and check it in a live preview.

Insights

See sign-ups over time and where they came from, with campaign tags on your link.

CSV export, 20 lists

Close a list, show how many people are waiting and export it as CSV. Each product can have up to 20 waitlists.

On your website and in your app.

Put the join card where your visitors are, and let your own product know who is waiting.

  • A join card or a button takes one line of script. The card inside is a plain page in a frame, and the button opens your portal.
  • Insights counts the people who came from your website.
  • Webhooks send waitlist.joined, waitlist.left and waitlist.invited to your own app.
  • With a manage key, your server can read a waitlist, check whether one of your users is waiting or invited, and invite people.

Add your website to the allowed embed sites first, or the card will not appear. The snippets are on the waitlist's Share and embed tab.

Waitlist questions, answered plainly.

  • Who can join a waitlist?

Anyone with a verified account on your portal. There is no sign-up with only an email address, so every entry is a real person and the address is the one on their account. Where your portal runs on your own domain with email-code sign-in, people can also join with their email address and a code. Answers to your join questions are for your team only and never appear on a public page. Team members with the viewer role see answers but not entrants' addresses.

  • Do waitlists cost extra or use my email allowance?

Waitlists are on every plan at no extra charge. Invitations, welcome emails and messages to the list are emails to your users, so on monthly and yearly plans they count toward the monthly email allowance, and on lifetime plans they go through your own email provider. Scheduled waves send the same invitation email. Webhooks and the API are included in every plan.

  • Can I email the people on a waitlist?

Yes. Write to the people waiting, the people you invited, everyone, or only those who gave a certain answer. You see the email and how many people it reaches before you send, and past messages stay in the Messages tab. Nobody who left or turned off email gets one. You can send one message per waitlist an hour, to at most 10,000 people. An email cannot be recalled, and owners, admins and managers can send.

  • Can I put a waitlist on my own website?

Yes. Paste one line of script to show a join card or a button. The card is a plain page in a frame, and joining opens your portal. Insights counts the people who came from it. Add your website to the sites allowed in the product's embed settings first, or the card will not appear.

  • How do I stop people gaming referrals?

Each person can earn a limited number of friends a day, and you set the limit. Friends over that limit, friends with a throwaway email address and friends whose address reaches the same inbox as the person who invited them wait for your review instead of counting straight away, and you can grant or dismiss each one.

  • Can I connect a waitlist to my own app?

Yes. Webhooks send waitlist.joined, waitlist.left and waitlist.invited. They carry no names, addresses or answers unless an owner or admin turns that on for the endpoint. With a manage key, your server can list waitlists, read the people on one, check whether one of your users is waiting or invited, and invite people. The developers page has the details.

  • Can I undo an invitation?

No. An invitation email cannot be recalled, so check the number before you send. Inviting again does not send a second email to someone who was already invited.
